Police murder hunt after man dies in Alexandria park stabbing
16 JanuaryA 37-year-old man who died after being found injured at the Argyle football pavilion in Alexandria is believed to have been stabbed, police say.
The man died in "suspicious" circumstances after he was found injured at the Argyle Park pavilion, in Heather Avenue, just after 4pm on Sunday 15th January.
He died a short time later at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
Police said a post-mortem examination and formal identification will take place on Monday and a definite line of inquiry is being followed.
UPDATE: 10pm Monday - The victim has been named by police as Mark Gallagher. A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death, and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
